We are looking for a highly motivated Hazard communication Specialist who is looking to lead the chemical hazard classification and communication for our team. This role will be responsible for analyzing chemical hazards and publishing Safety Data Sheets (SDSs). While the primary responsibility of this role is creating chemical hazard compliance documentation, you will have plenty of opportunity to expand in areas of global compliance in the chemical and cosmetic industries. You will report directly to the Regulatory Compliance Manager and will work closely with the business and R&D teams on existing and new product innovations.
Duties And Responsibilities
Duties may include, but are not limited to the following (Product Stewardship, Regulatory Compliance focus areas):
- Provides daily global hazard and regulatory assessments for world-wide SDS and label distribution, the Global Harmonized System in a variety of software systems, including WERCS and Datcor ERP.
- Work closely with the team toxicologist to evaluate multiple chemical hazard databases and global regulations to classify chemical hazards
- Publish customer facing and internal documents that are critical to Customer satisfaction.
- Provides regulatory and technical advice to Technical, Sales and Marketing for complex local, national and international EHS regulatory and scientific matters.
- Proactively and continually improves their level of knowledge about global chemical-control regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with cross functional and international teams to implement solutions for pressing regulatory changes
- Responsible for chemical control compliance programs and import and export compliance.
Experience And Qualifications
- Experience in working with regulatory agencies or areas of concentration such as: FDA, Health Canada, European Union REACH, Global Harmonization System (GHS), Classification for Labelling & Packaging (CLP), Hazard Communication, Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA), Pesticides/Biocides, and/or ISO certifications.
- Must have good interpersonal and written and oral communication skills, and capable of collaborating with the business and other functions to support implementation of global product stewardship strategy, regulatory affairs policies, compliance standards, programs and operating procedures as applicable.

Knowledge/Skills/Capabilities:
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills - Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project, and Teams

- Good organizational skills are a requirement as well as the ability to work in a high paced environment and change direction with little effort.
- Ability to spend several hours in an office setting in front of a computer.
Education
- BS degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or related science & minimum 3 years of combined experience in regulatory affairs, product stewardship, or trade compliance.
