The Role and Responsibilities
As part of a global Product Stewardship and Regulatory (PS&R) team, the PS&R Senior Specialist will provide support to multiple Electronics & Industrial (E&I) businesses and customers through leadership and implementation of product stewardship practices and product regulatory compliance processes.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Understands, communicates, and implements corporate/business PS&R standards, policies, and systems to ensure chemical regulatory compliance and internal product risk management
- Provides new raw material and new product risk assessments (e.g., chemical screening for EH&S impacts, regulatory compliance evaluation, stakeholder perception, and PS&R risk management)
- Coordinates periodic, global product stewardship risk reviews for multiple product lines
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders such as E&I business or Corporate PS&R, EH&S, Commercial and R&D Leaders, Product Managers, and other Integrated Operations resources in supply chain, quality, logistics, contract manufacturing, etc:
- Understands PS&R issues and trends, consults with internal stakeholders to define risk mitigating actions, impacts to business strategy, etc.
- Promotes sustainable development concepts for products corresponding to sustainability goals and programs
- Leads regulatory compliance strategy globally with support from regional and corporate PS&R teams
- Ensures that appropriate PS training is provided to key business stakeholders (e.g., R&D, supply chain, marketing)
- Develops product-line specific response for any corporate driven chemical risk management activities
- Provides raw material and product compositional data analysis to support internal and external chemical requests
- Partners with customers responding to PS&R-related inquiries while protecting trade secrets
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Toxicology, Engineering or a related field is required
- 5+ years of Project management work experience in a combination of EH&S, PS&R, operations management, or engineering
- Computer proficiency including Microsoft® Office applications and ability to manage and manipulate data in spreadsheets and SharePoint platforms
- SAP® experience is preferable
- Experience with E&I businesses and processes is preferable
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to lead strategy development, process execution, and critical issue closure across technical disciplines and organizational functions
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and effectively manage a large quantity of ambiguous, complex work using a risk-based approach
- Demonstrated ability to identify and drive continuous improvement efforts
- Excellent verbal and written communication / presentation skills; clear, concise, and tailored to audience
