The Regulatory Analyst reports to the Managing Director of WRCA and will be an employee of WRA. The job responsibilities include:
- Monitor and analyze statewide regulatory activities impacting recycled water.
- Provide written and public comments on regulations impacting recycled water.
- Provide oral and written reports to the WRCA Leg-Reg Committee (primary committee addressing regulations), the Board of Trustees, and the seven chapters.
- Facilitate outreach to allied stakeholders on recycled water issues.
- Provide support to the Managing Director on annual conference and other special projects.
- Provide monthly newsletter articles and written reports to WRA on regulatory activities.
WateReuse California (WRCA) is a state section of the national organization, the WateReuse Association (WRA). WRCA is the leading voice and advocate for water recycling in California. WRCA works primarily with the California Legislature and state regulatory agencies while also assisting its members with local recycled water policy and communication issues. WRCA also support the national WRA and helps coordinate state responses to national recycled water issues.
WRCA has approximately 220 members that include water utilities, consultants and businesses, universities, and institutions. WRCA has a Board of Trustees, a number of standing committees and seven local chapters. WRCA’s Board employs a Managing Director and a contract legislative advocate.

The ideal candidate has background in California water issues, strong written and verbal communication skills, is highly organized, able to work independently, and able to prioritize and manage multiple assignments. The successful candidate will also have the following attributes:

- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage professional relationships, listen and learn from others, give presentations, communicate to multiple audiences, and engage in professional networking.
- Maintain flexibility and have the capacity to comfortably adapt to and manage change in a fast-paced and evolving workplace.
- Possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in political science, public administration, resource management or a closely related field, supplemented by three years of professional experience in administration, legislation, and management analysis.
Licenses and Other Requirements:
A valid California driver's license.
