Are you a creative and motivated scientist with experience innovating biochemistries for Next Generation DNA Sequencing (NGS)? Then this position on an interdisciplinary team responsible for innovating biochemistries and platforms for Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) may be for you. Candidate should have experience working in the field of DNA sequencing, or in the study of DNA-processing enzymes such as polymerases and helicases. Single-molecule and biophysics experience preferred.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will design, execute and analyze experiments, utilizing an understanding of DNA, enzymes and biophysics.
Systematically determine causes of, and troubleshoot solutions to, sticking points, with defined goals and timeframes.
Effectively work within multidisciplinary teams and routinely interact with synthetic chemists, protein chemists, and engineers to solve problems and devise experimental plans.
Preferred Experiential Background:
0-3 years of post-PhD hands-on experience with single molecule biochemistry experiments, sequencing, or nucleic acid sensor biochemistry.
Understanding of single molecule biophysics; interdisciplinary experience combining biochemistry and biophysics to address biological problems.
Familiarity and comfort working with data collection systems, analyzing data sets, and troubleshooting experiments.
Strong data analysis skills and ability to analyze data to determine next steps.
Highly creative and inventive problem solver with a can-do attitude.
Excellent communication skills.
