The Technical Service Manager is responsible for engineering Valtris plasticizer products into new markets and customer applications. This position will work closely with key internal functions including R&D chemist, business management, sales team, and operation team to expand the product portfolio and drive sustainable business growth.
Primary responsibility is to provide technical support to North American customers, and match Valtris plasticizers to their application needs.
Support business growth by establishing value propositions of Valtris plasticizers in polymer applications including:
PVC Plastisol Inks
Support sales efforts by visiting customers to identify opportunities and recommend right products.
Identify new business opportunities in alignment with business strategies.
Develop technical reports and present in front of customers and at conferences to advance technical reputation of Valtris associates and products.
Develop technical marketing brochures to support business growth.
Self-starter and design proper experiments to generate data necessary for customers and conference papers.
Be able to work in the lab and understand the technology you are supporting.
Manage laboratory technicians when supporting polymer modifier projects.
Understand the regulations associated with the plasticizer products and possible implications of those regulations.
Plant support – help in root cause investigations where necessary.
Support stage gate R&D projects by collecting “voice of the customer” on targeted projects. Conduct performance testing and establish technical brochures. Also carry out trainings of new products to internal sales team and customers.
B.S. in chemistry or equivalent.
10-20 years of experience in polymer or polymer additives industry, with formulating expertise.
Strong customer facing experience to address customers’ unmet needs.
Solid understanding of polymer chemistry, polymer-additive-processing-property correlations.
Familiarity with plasticizer-related production preferred.
Advanced degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred
