This position will be a resource for best practices of managing major clinical trials. The coordinator will provide guidance to both study trials and device trials. The incumbent will be a liaison to departmental interaction such as the investigational team, the nursing units and sponsor. He/She will be a resource to other members of the team and will oversee the implementation of new clinical trials. Will review all new trials to help identify the challenges and opportunities discovered. Will problem-solve the challenges to implement a plan of action; will work with the regulatory manager to ensure that submissions to the IRB are completed in a timely manner. Will supervise the execution of the trial with the staff to ensure adherence to the protocol is followed and will audit the trials for compliance and enrollment which include a review of the data entry for accuracy and completeness and adverse event management. The coordinator will take an active role in preparation of trial audits and inspection. The coordinator will take a lead role supervising any inspection that takes place with the trials. S/he will provide monthly updates to the research team and the director.
The primary function of this position is to coordinate clinical research studies in the division of nuclear medicine in the department of Radiology. This CRC C will join a group of research staff that supports nuclear medicine research including ongoing industry sponsored and investigator initiated trials and new studies that are in development or start up phases. This position will be taking over the coordination of a number of ongoing active trials involving investigational radiotracers and PET imaging studies particularly in neuroimaging and addiction and neurology projects. Â This position will be asked to work closely in conducting clinical trials with both Radiology investigators and investigators from referring departments (neurology, psychology). The CRC C will be responsible for initiating and conducting participant screening, recruitment, enrollment, coordination and scheduling or all research required procedures and visits and coordinating with the referring clinics to manage joint projects involving initial screening, scheduling of imaging visits and coordination of complex imaging visits involving multiple investigational radiotracers and specialized blood and image analysis. The CRC C will organize, maintain, and keep up-to-date all required research documentation â“ to include but not limited to source documentation, case report forms, research charts and regulatory files. The CRC C will collect, review and report study data by completing case report forms and resolving data queries. The CRC C will be responsible for the abstraction of medical record information from subjectâ™s electronic medical records, interviews and/or questionnaires for entry into the research databases â“ including but not limited to RedCap, CTMS, Electronic data capture programs specified by study sponsors. The CRC C will be responsible for entering orders and scheduling study related visits in Pennchart and radiology systems; preparing and processing regulatory documents to all regulatory committees from study start up to study completion. Interacting with study sponsors, preparing and participating in study audits, clinical trial initiation visits, monitoring and closeout visits. Image reconstructions, specialized image analysis via specialized image analysis or programming software and image uploads to various electronic data management platforms will be a specialized task set for this position due to the nature of the research this position will support. This position will support several major grants that involve cross department and cross institutional collaborations and will require facile computer skills working with complex image data sets and communication across institutions. Part of this support will be design, development and maintenance of websites for one or more of the funded centers this position will support.
