Central San, a progressive public utility, is seeking a Senior Chemist. This position supervises and directs the daily work activities within the laboratory including preparing work schedules; assigning duties to laboratory personnel; maintaining appropriate laboratory inventories; requisitioning necessary supplies and equipment; administering the laboratory computer systems (LIMS); performing the more complicated chemical, biochemical, and bacteriological analyses of water, wastewater, and related solids and liquids relevant to the operation of wastewater treatment; and conducting and preparing special studies and analyses as required.
Education and Experience:
Four years of experience in a laboratory or related setting, two years of which must involve wastewater testing.
Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major work in chemistry, bacteriology, or a closely related science.
Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.
Possession of a Grade III or IV Laboratory Technologist Certificate issued by the California Water Environment Association is desirable.
